About me . . .
Education:
I consider myself a life-long learner.
I earned my first degree, an Associate in Applied Science, from Baker College of Muskegon. My program of study at Baker College was Surgical Technology. I worked in surgery for two years, before returning to school to get my teaching degree.
Next, I completed an Associate in Applied Arts degree at Muskegon Community College. This degree allowed me to transfer with junior standing to Grand Valley State University. At GVSU, I earned a Bachelors degree in Education with a major in English and a minor in Health.
During the first few years of teaching, I completed my Master's Degree in Education at Grand Valley State University.
Since earning my Master's Degree over twenty years ago, I have accumulated numerous credits from colleges both in Michigan and across the US.

Experience:
I began my teaching career at Walkerville Public Schools in 1999. I taught 7th grade English, 10th grade English, and a writing skills class. While at Walkerville, I was the Student Council Adviser.
In the fall of 2000, I started teaching at Shelby High School. From 2000-2008 I taught English 10 and English 11. In 2008, I took over the Health Department and began teaching Health and Advanced Health, in addition to English 10.
I currently teach all sections of Health, Advanced Health, Baby Care Basics and Middle School Health. In addition, I continue to teach both sections of English 10.
I was the Student Council adviser for seven years, before I switched over to a class adviser. Since then, I have advised both freshmen and sophomore classes.
